Vižinada

Vizinada The view over the Mirnatal to the little mountain town of Motovun, which is enthroned on a hill, is absolutely amazing. Here you can enjoy Istria with all your senses.

A special highlight in Vizinada is the closed-down Parenzana railway line. For cyclists and hikers, 123 km from Trieste to Porec, it offers a unique nature experience. From Vizinada a tourist train runs several times a day along the Parenzana to Motovun - so you can relax and enjoy the scenery ;-)

Ritošin Brig

Ritosin Brig Ritošin Brig is situated about 5 km south-east of Vižinada on a hill in the middle of an intact cultural landscape. Enjoy the tranquillity and atmosphere of this original place, whose roots go back to the Middle Ages. Thanks to its exposed location, there is always a light breeze that ensures pleasant temperatures even on hot summer days.

Močitada

The hamlet of Močitada, which belongs to the municipality of Motovun, is located in the immediate vicinity of Ritošin Brig in absolute seclusion. The grandiose view over the green hilly landscape quickly makes you forget the stress of everyday life. The medieval mountain village of Motovun is only a few minutes away by car or bicycle.

Beaches

The nearest beaches are located around the Lanterna peninsula, but further south towards Poreč there are numerous opportunities for swimming. Recommended are among others

Lanterna peninsula: the beautiful, well-kept beaches of Valeta and Crnika are located on the Lanterna peninsula, on the Camp Lanterna area near Vabriga. Admission is subject to a fee, but for this you can also use the amenities of the camp site. Both beaches are awarded the blue flag and offer showers and changing rooms. In summer the beach is also guarded daily from 10:00 to 18:00 h. The access to the sea is partly possible by stairs, so that the beaches are very suitable for families with children or also for older guests.

Červar Porat: If you would like to be a bit calmer, you should visit the beach at the Červar Porat. The freely accessible 1.5 km long beach west of the small town is also popular among locals. Numerous pine trees provide pleasant shade in summer.

Beaches in Poreč: From Kaštelir and Vizinada you can easily reach the beaches of Materada (at the Hotel Laguna Materada) and Donji Špadići in the north of Poreč. The freely accessible beaches are supervised all day long and offer a wide range of leisure activities and gastronomy. Here you can end the beach day with a resturant visit.

Shopping

in Vižinada

In the centre of the village there are two small supermarkets (mini-markets) with a basic offer: the slightly bigger one is located on the road towards Novigrad (where there is also the tourist information office and a post office as well as an ATM), the second one is directly at the crossroads of the D21 with the road to Novigrad.

If you want to have a barbecue on holiday, you should visit the butcher's shop in Vižinada-Ferenci (directly on the D21, signposted' Mesnica').

Good wine can be bought from the Deklić family (Vina Deklić) in Ferenci. Here you are also invited to a wine tasting.

in Ritošin Brig

There is no supermarket in Ritošin Brig, but there is a mobile market car in front of the church on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

in Višnjan

A bakery with a nice selection of bread and sweets (also cakes) is located in the centre of the village at the junction to Poreč, next to it there is a small supermarket.

The Poletti Winery in Višnjan-Markovac offers excellent wines and olive oils for tasting (groups only).

For larger purchases we recommend the supermarkets in Poreč like Plodine, Kaufland, Lidl. Some fruit and vegetables can also be bought at street stalls.
