Route 1: Salzburg - Villach - Ljubljana - Koper
- The fastest, but also the most expensive route, as you need to pay, in addition to the Austrian and Slovenian motorway vignette (toll sticker), an additional fee for the 'Tauernautobahn' and the 'Karawanken tunnel'.
- From Munich you drive via Salzburg on the Austrian A10 ('Tauernautobahn') to Villach. By passing the 'Karawankentunnel' you reach Slovenia. From here, continue via Ljubljana to Koper, where you leave the motorway at the exit 'Pula'. Now it is a few kilometers (well signed) on a country road to Croatia. Just across the border starts the Croatian motorway A9, which you can follow to your holiday destination.
- If you arrive from the east of Austria, we recommend you to go via Graz and Maribor to Ljubljana. From there continue as described above.
