Visible from afar, the peaks of the Učka Mountains, up to 1400 m high, tower over the north of the peninsula. The nature park, which has existed since 1999, is a beautiful hiking area with numerous tours for beginners up to demanding alpine routes. Hikers are rewarded with magnificent views over the islands of the Kvarner Bay and, on a clear day, even as far as the Italian Alps.
For example, a short hike through the spectacular Vela Draga gorge on the west side or the ascent of the highest peak, Vojnak (1396 m), is recommended.
