A particularly recommended destination is the small medieval village of Grožnjan, perched on a hill above the Mirna Valley. The former Venetian fortress from the 14th Century was left to decay, until in the 1960s, artists have discovered and revived this village. Today Grožnjan is especially in summer a popular venue for artists and musicians from all over the world. Many galleries have settled in the narrow streets, in the summer there are regular concerts.
