A special place to return to earlier times, combined with pure nature is Kotli. Halfway between Roč and Hum, it is worth a detour for nature lovers and those interested in culture. In spring and early summer, you can marvel at waterfalls here and swim in the river below the waterfall. In high summer, a walk in the dried-up Mirna River bed is spectacular.
Hikers also get their money's worth here, e.g. the 7 waterfall hiking trail to Buzet passes here.
The smallest town in the world, Hum, with just 23 inhabitants, is well developed for tourism and it is worth getting to know this small town. Hum was built in the 11th century on the remains of a castle. Since then, little has changed, so that the town has been able to retain its originality to this day.
There is a good konoba (Humska konoba) in the town that invites you to linger.
On the 5013 road from Pazin to Buzet, the dream of every motorcyclist and convertible driver, lies the enchanted village of Draguć. Not only is the view fantastic from afar, but a detour into the village is always worthwhile. As you stroll through the old streets, you will notice that time has stood still here too, and that peace and tranquillity reign supreme.
Immerse yourself in this atmosphere and let yourself be enchanted!
In the very north of Istria, just before the border with Slovenia, this medieval town towers over the fertile Mirna valley. In addition to its medieval town centre, Buzet is also known as the 'town of truffles'. In the forests along the Mirna all the way to Motovun, the rare white truffles grow alongside the black truffles! From a culinary point of view, a visit to the Aura distillery and a detour to nearby Paladini, to the truffle manufactory of the Karlić family, are worthwhile.
Truffle forests, vineyards and olive groves dominate the green hilly landscape in the interior of Istria. This extraordinary landscape is crowned by ancient mountain villages to be discovered, whether by bike, motorbike or car. Numerous wineries, agritourisms and first-class restaurants invite you to get to know the delicacies of this region.
